Definition of University Housing
University housing refers to all University residence halls, apartments,
houses, duplexes and University-managed fraternity houses.
Freshman Housing
The University of Evansville guarantees residence hall
rooms for all freshmen. University policy requires all single freshmen recently graduated from high
school and not residing with their parents, legal guardians or immediate
family to live in University residence halls. Students may choose to seek
other housing upon achieving sophomore status (30 semester hours).
All
freshmen are required to live in traditional residence halls.
Apartments, duplexes, and houses (the Villages) are
available to upper-class students with 60+ hours. Exceptions /
modification to residency requirements are determined by the director of residence life.
Upper-Class
Housing
Upper-classmen are welcome and encouraged to live on campus!
Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors make up over half of the total resident
population in residence halls! This makes for a positive mix of fresh
ideas, peer mentoring and the passing down of community traditions!
Villages apartments and houses are available to upper-class
students with 60 or more semester hours. These units, located adjacent to the campus, are under the
supervision of the assistant director of residence life and
four resident assistants.
University-Managed Fraternity Houses
University-Managed Fraternities fall under
the standard housing contract. See
Fraternity Housing for more.
