RSA Executive Board Positions

RSA President 

  • Serves as the chief spokesperson for RSA.

  • Presides over all general assembly and executive board meetings.

  • Meets weekly with RSA advisors.

  • Attends Student Congress meetings as a non-voting member to report on the activities of RSA.

  • Meets regularly with the Presidents of the Area Councils.

  • Appoints a Student Congress Representative and two Student Development Fund Representatives.

  • Maintains veto power of all RSA legislation. This veto may be overridden by a two-thirds vote of the General Assembly.

  • Must have served, for one year, as an Executive Board member or president of an Area Council.


Vice-President

  • Oversees and aids the following standing committees: Special Events, Area Assessments and Food Advisory Board, and appoints chairpersons of these committees.

  • Supervises all events sponsored by the above committees and maintains communication with the committee chairs.

  • Have a weekly recognition system for General Assembly.

  • Represent the President at meetings or functions as deemed necessary by the President. This includes presiding over General Assembly and Executive Board meetings in the President’s absence.


Treasurer

  • Responsible for all revenues and expenditures of RSA and Resident Areas.

  • Provide updated budget information at Executive Board meetings.

  • Present a Treasurer’s report of RSA accounts upon request.

  • Be responsible, along with the President, for the preparation of the RSA budget.

  • Coordinator of fundraising processes.

  • Meet with the Area Council Treasurers at least 3 times a semester.


Secretary

  • Records verbal roll call at the beginning of each RSA General Assembly Meeting.

  • Takes minutes at RSA General Assembly and Executive Board meetings.

  • Distributes and submits for approval the General Assembly minutes of the past week.

  • Maintains a file of all RSA minutes and resolutions.

  • Collects and files the minutes of each Area Council meeting.

  • Oversees Publicity committees and appoints the Chair.


NACURH Communication Coordinator/Hoosier

Communications Coordinator (NCC/HCC)

  • An Appointed Position

  • Referred to as NCC.

  • Represents RSA at all conferences and business meetings.

  • Recruits and prepare delegates for conferences.

  • Prepares arrangements for delegations representing RSA at conferences and/or business meetings.

  • Ensures that all requirements for membership in IRHO, GLACURH, and NACURH are met.

  • Supervises, maintains and promotes the Resource File Index (RFI).

  • Oversees the Ethics Committee if a need for the committee arises.

  • Acts as Parliamentarian during General Assembly meetings and checks for quorum.


 NACURH Communication Coordinator/ Hoosier

Communications Coordinator-In Training (NCC/HCC-IT)

  • An Appointed Position

  • Referred to as NCC-IT.

  • Accompanies the NCC/HCC to all conferences and business meetings.

  • Assists with conference and business meeting preparations including registrations and delegation preparations.

  • Assists in supervising, maintaining and promoting the Resource File Index (RFI)

  • Chairs the Ethics Committee if a need for the committee arises.

  • Works with the NCC as a team.  This position may transition into NCC the second year

  • The NCC/HCC-IT shall be able to assume the responsibilities of the NCC/HCC should the need arise.
