The Best Friend Myth

 “My roommate and I are going to join the same fraternity/sorority, take the same classes, and even hang out with the same people…We’ll talk all night, share meals, maybe even move into a house together.”

 An instant best friend! It may sound like fun…but it’s not reality.  Face it, not all roommates end up best friends.  Friendship is not really the main factor in developing a working roommate relationship.  Open communication with your roommate is the key.  Establish expectations early.  You never know, you may develop a friendship that will last the years of college….and you may just live with the person.  Either way, be sure to COMMUNICATE.
