Students in the University’s Honors Program have
the option to live among other Honors students in Powell Residence Hall.
Powell Hall is a co-ed residence hall with four
single-sex floors. A blend of new and returning students lives on each floor in
an effort to promote an academic scholar experience.
The Honors Lounge is located there, as well as an apartment for the Honors
faculty-in-residence. Weekly “Honors Teas” are sponsored by the
faculty-in-residence to foster community & build relationships. These are
informal get-togethers with plenty of cookies and conversation!
To
request this living option, students should list Honors housing in Powell as
their first preference on their housing application.

There are a limited number of spaces available. Students will be selected for
Honors Housing on a first-come-first-served basis.
Don’t know if you’ll be in the Honors Program?
Not to worry… Students may request this option prior to knowing their status of
admission into the Honors Program… Placement in Honors housing will be possible
once your admission is granted to the Honors Program and your housing
application is received in the Office of Residence Life.
Note: Due to the limited
space in Powell Residence Hall, non-Honors Program students may not be able to
room with Honors Program students. Notification of your housing assignment will
be sent in mid-July.
