The Global Living and Learning Community (GLLC)

The Global Living & Learning Community (GLLC) is a residential community where the study of foreign languages, global society and cultural diversity are a primary focus. Members of the GLLC participate in a variety of cultural programs and diversity experiences. 

The Asian Immersion Experience (AIE) partners with the GLLC to provide a concentrated focus on the Asian World.  This can include all regional cultures of the Asian continent including but not limited to: China, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, India, Nepal, Iran, the Middle East, Russia, and some parts of Eastern Europe. 

The GLLC and AIE provide students with an opportunity to increase their exposure to resources related to language, culture, and people.  Students on the floor have been very active this year updating the Global Diversity Resource Center in the lower level of Moore Hall. 

Resources

Members of the GLLC and AIE have card swipe access to the Global Diversity Resource Center (GLLC Media Room & Library) in the lower level of Moore Hall.  This room consists of books, DVD’s, magazines, and newspapers from around the world.  The room has also been recently updated with a flat screen mounted TV with cable and a region-free DVD player which is available to all members.
